The mission of CEPA is to preserve and enhance a variety of natural,
cultural, and historical areas in the Calumet region for present and
future generations. Southeast Historical Society 3658 East 106th Street, Chicago, Illinois, 60617 The Southeast Historical Society continues its search for documents and artifacts of the past, while making a concerted effort to record the present in a fashion that will be organized and retrievable for historians in the future. In an era when the present is almost as plastic as it was when the region was first developed, such record keeping becomes especially important. Southeast Environmental Task Force: The mission of SETF is to affirmatively protect the residents, economy, and environment of Chicago's Calumet region by defending the 20-year moratorium on new and expanded landfill construction, advocating for a permanent moratorium, and promoting progressive alternatives to waste burial.
